CARRY THE FLAME: Band of Crusaders Marches to Glory in a Witcher-esque Medieval Europe

13/08/2024

Warsaw, Poland - August 13, 2024 – From the historic heart of Poland, Virtual Alchemy, an up-and-coming indie studio, today unveils their ambitious debut, Band of Crusaders. This strategy RPG, reminiscent of The Witcher but with its unique twist, plunges players into a dark and twisted medieval Europe.

As the Grandmaster of a fledgling knightly order, players will rise to challenge the pandemonium that has seized The Continent. Band of Crusaders combines real-time combat with deep strategic planning as players recruit and manage a diverse group of crusaders—knights, spearmen, archers, and more—battling against a backdrop of a Europe corrupted by devils and eldritch cults.

The game's rich narrative allows players to engage in emergent storytelling where every decision impacts their journey across historically-inspired 1350s A.D. landscapes. From managing the mental and material needs of your troops to engaging in visceral battles against bandits and demonic forces, the game promises a comprehensive medieval strategy experience.

    Trailer:

"Band of Crusaders is about transforming a ragtag band of peasants into celebrated heroes amidst a Europe where chaos reigns and Archdemons loom at the gates," explains Dominik Sypnicki, CEO of Virtual Alchemy.

Art Director Kamil Mickiewicz adds, "Our game melds precise historical authenticity in tools and armor with the fantastical – demons inspired by biblical texts and European myths. It's our take on what a Witcher-less world would entail, filled with dire stakes and raw, unmitigated heroism."

For fans eager to delve into this corrupted medieval realm, Band of Crusaders' Steam page is already live, where the game can be wishlisted to stay updated on its impending release.

Follow the journey of Virtual Alchemy on Discord, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram for the latest updates and insider peaks into the development process.
