Shanghai, China - The 2024 ChinaJoy-Game Connection INDIE GAME Exhibition & Development Awards have wrapped up successfully at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, marking a monumental gathering of global gaming partners and an explosion of indie game innovation.
This year's exhibition saw unprecedented participation with over 100 indie games showcased onsite, nearly 300 submissions for the Independent Game Development Award, and more than 400 games registered for the online INDIE FESTIVAL, in partnership with Steam China. The expo not only celebrated local talent but also welcomed a significant number of foreign pavilions and visitors, enhancing the event's international appeal. This year, the Development Awards were fiercely contested across multiple categories, with Chinese games taking center stage. Cotton Game's "Sunset Hills" and FireWo Games' "The Bustling World" were among the biggest winners, each clinching three awards. These achievements underscore the growing prowess and recognition of Chinese indie games on the world stage.
The excitement extended beyond the exhibition with an after-party hosted by Indie Light and Game Connection. This event allowed developers, publishers, and other industry stakeholders to forge closer relationships in a more relaxed setting, promoting further collaboration.
