In a recent announcement, RedDeer.Games and emergeWorlds revealed the release date for their upcoming dark-fantasy puzzle platformer, DROS. Slated for a Nintendo Switch release on July 12th, the game promises to blend nostalgic 1980s fantasy film elements with innovative gameplay and unique art styles.
In DROS, players will follow the adventures of Captain, a seasoned bounty hunter, and Little Dros, an alchemical slime creature with magical abilities. Their journey unfolds in the ominous Alchemist's Tower, also known as the Machine, where they must navigate puzzles, confront enemies, and uncover secrets to dismantle the evil Alchemist's plans.
The game's art style is a creative amalgamation of detailed dioramas, charming 3D chibi-style sprites, and hand-drawn portraits that bring its quirky characters to life. Players will switch between Captain and Little Dros to leverage their complementary skill sets in a series of challenging steampunk-inspired puzzles. Along their ascent, the duo will encounter a cast of characters, from helpful allies like the friendly alchemist Enki to other dros with their own agendas.
