My review of Payday 3 comes after observing its "Mostly Negative" reception on Steam. I tested the Payday 3 Beta earlier in 2023. So I feel I waited long enough. Despite the negative reviews, I had to experience it for myself.
The question at hand: was the delay in engaging with the game justified, and have the initial issues been addressed? While I haven't delved into the specifics of the reviews, my personal experience did reveal some technical difficulties. The game suffered from lag, stuttering, extended matchmaking times, and occasional freezing during loading screens post-mission. These issues certainly detracted from the overall enjoyment.
Many players prefer Payday 2, and while Payday 3 offers exciting missions ranging from cooking meth in a basement lab to bank robberies and stealth operations, it doesn't entirely compensate for its technical flaws. I'd suggest waiting a few months before trying it again, with the hope that updates will enhance the game. Ideally, sequels should improve upon their predecessors, so there's potential for Payday 3 to evolve. I'll provide an update if there's new content and improvements.
Have a blast!
