Sony is set to launch the PlayStation Portal Remote Player and a significant system software update for the PlayStation 5 on June 19, 2024. These updates are packed with new features designed to enhance the gaming experience.

  • The PlayStation Portal Remote Player and the system software update will both be available starting June 19, 2024. To update your PS5, navigate to the settings menu, and the PlayStation Portal can be pre-ordered through the PlayStation Store and major retailers. 

  • PlayStation Portal Remote Player

    The PlayStation Portal Remote Player is a dedicated handheld device that allows you to stream PS5 games via Remote Play. Key features include:

    • 7-inch LCD Screen: Enjoy games in 1080p resolution at 60fps for a smooth visual experience.
    • DualSense Controller Integration: Supports haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, offering an immersive gaming experience similar to the PS5 controller.
    • Wi-Fi Connectivity: Enables seamless streaming from your PS5, even when you are away from home.

    System Software Update Highlights

    The new system software update brings a host of features aimed at improving accessibility, customization, and overall user experience:

    Cloud Streaming for PS5 Games

    • PlayStation Plus Premium members can now stream PS5 games from the cloud, enabling instant play without downloading.
