The Challenge of Missing Pieces
When I set out to cover 10 new games in a single day, I hope to have complete press kits ready for each title. Unfortunately, this is often not the case. The lack of preparedness forces me to search for images online or even create content from scratch. This turns the process into a mix of detective work and artistic creation, which, while enjoyable, is incredibly time-consuming. While I don't mind doing this, saving some time would allow me to focus more on my next tasks.
My Experience: More Time, Less Fun
As an independent content creator running the Fix Gaming Channel, I handle 90% of everything myself. Unlike teams at larger outlets like IGN or Gamespot, I don't have colleagues to share the load. This means every extra minute spent searching for or creating media is a minute taken from writing, editing, and publishing. Instead of delving deep into gameplay nuances and developer insights, I often find myself juggling graphic design and video editing tasks. This not only pushes back my schedule but also limits the volume and depth of content I can produce, affecting the timeliness and insightfulness of my reviews and features.
