Forest Asylum 2 horror character giving a creepy thumbs up in front of game title on black background

Game of the Week #11: Forest Asylum 2 — Will You Survive What Lurks in the Dark?

Posted on July 10, 2025January 23, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A storm hits the asylum. The lights go out. And something down there is watching your every move.

Forest Asylum 2 is a fresh psychological horror experience created by solo developer Michal Piotrowski. While we haven’t played it ourselves (yet), it immediately stood out thanks to its disturbing premise, smart enemy AI, and eerie atmosphere. It continues where the first game left off—but you don’t need to play the original to get pulled into this nightmare. A storm. A blackout. And a lurking presence that’s always one step behind you. Welcome back to the asylum.

Forest Asylum 2

Release Date: July 7, 2025

Genre: Adventure, Psychological Horror

Developer/Publisher: Michal Piotrowski

Platforms: PC (Steam)

About This Game

After the events of the first game, the player enters therapy to process their trauma.

Upon arriving at the asylum, things quickly spiral out of control. A violent storm and power outage lead to a terrifying sequence of events that will change your life forever.

You’ll explore the asylum in search of answers, collecting items that allow you to progress deeper into its haunted halls. But be warned — something is after you. It’s intelligent. It’s patient. And it reacts to your behavior.

Why It’s Our Game of the Week

Forest Asylum 2 is a reminder that horror doesn’t need a massive budget to be effective. Its chilling setup, AI-driven enemy, and bite-sized structure make it a standout indie release. While we haven’t had the chance to play it ourselves yet, the early reception and presentation convinced us this deserves the spotlight.

Smaller games like this contrast sharply with the billion-dollar giants. While major studios work on sequels like Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming follow-up, indie developers continue to craft tight, focused horror with heart. That’s why Forest Asylum 2 is our Game of the Week.
