Still Joking game key art featuring Iris, the mirror reflection protagonist

Still Joking Steps into Focus and Launches Today on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG

Posted on May 17, 2024August 6, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

It’s launch day for Still Joking, the debut title from the team at Purple Brick Games. This isn’t your average narrative game—it’s something more intimate, surreal, and emotional. You’ll play as Iris, a mirror reflection forced into her own existence after the tragic death of her real-world counterpart. From grief to growth, and mystery to madness, this one asks some big questions wrapped in an otherworldly premise.

Behind the Glass: A Story Unlike Any Other

Reflections usually just follow us—same expressions, same routines, same fake smiles. But what if one day, your reflection was left alone after you died? That’s the premise of Still Joking, and it’s just as strange and beautiful as it sounds.

You’ll take on the role of Iris, a reflection of a murdered actress, now forced to figure out what comes next. It’s a game about moving forward, about finding meaning in chaos, and maybe—just maybe—about learning to laugh again.

Choices That Matter (and Some That Don’t)

Still Joking isn’t about puzzles or power fantasies. It’s about choices that echo through the mirror world—some tiny, some huge. You’ll meet strange characters, uncover secrets, and decide how Iris fits into this broken new existence. Will she be kind? Cold? Chaotic? That’s up to you.

A Cast of Characters (and Developers) You Won’t Forget

The team at Purple Brick Games is a diverse group from all over the world: a lawyer, a musician, a journalist, a chemist, and yes—even a college dropout. They’ve built something genuinely heartfelt here. The writing is sharp, the visuals are stunning, and the whole thing carries that special energy you only get from creators who are doing it for the love of the game.

Why You Should Play Still Joking

If you’re into games that make you feel something—games that blur the line between storytelling and poetry—then Still Joking should absolutely be on your radar. It’s not a game for everyone, but it’s a game that will stay with those who let it in.

Whether you want to laugh through the pain, cry through the laughter, or just exist in a world that’s completely outside the norm, this one offers something rare: a new perspective from the other side of the mirror.
