A 1994 Finland open world that keeps getting bigger — and stays grounded
January 16, 2026 — Lohkare Games Oy says Last Drop has grown from a compact demo slice into a much larger, cross-shaped open world as the team moves toward its upcoming Steam Early Access launch. If you missed our earlier coverage, here’s a good starting point: Last Drop: Relive 1994 Finland in Lohkare Games Oy’s Edgy New Action RPG.
The studio describes a map expansion from roughly 600 × 800 meters in the original demo area to an open world measuring around 22 × 25 kilometers, connected by 100+ kilometers of roads and built to reflect real Finnish environments from the mid-1990s — from rural roads and lakes to suburbs, small towns, and the city of Nykylä.

A world built around place, not power
The pitch hasn’t changed: Last Drop isn’t framed as a power fantasy. The studio describes it as a story about surviving everyday life — driving, fighting, drifting between small jobs, hustling for money, and building relationships with flawed characters shaped by 1990s Finland.
That design idea shows up in navigation too: the team says there’s no minimap. Instead, players rely on paper maps, memory, and observation — a deliberate attempt to make movement feel like 1994 rather than modern GPS.
What’s actually expanded
Alongside the raw scale increase, Lohkare points to more specific upgrades inside the spaces: Seppo’s home suburb Kuosilampi is described as having residential buildings you can explore inside and out, while the Nykylä city center is positioned as a substantial playable area on its own.
