Twin Sails Interactive Becomes Independent from Asmodee

Posted on April 7, 2025July 21, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A Strategic Shift That Opens New Doors for the Publisher

Twin Sails Interactive, the publishing label behind indie and AA titles like Gloomhaven Digital and Ember Knights, has officially separated from Asmodee and the Embracer Group. Now fully independent, Twin Sails is charting a new path under the leadership of Managing Director Nicolas Godement.

This move follows months of restructuring within Embracer’s sprawling portfolio and gives Twin Sails the agility to pursue its own publishing strategy. According to the official statement, the company will remain focused on high-quality games in collaboration with passionate developers.

What This Means for Developers and Fans

The transition to independence could be a positive shift for studios working with Twin Sails. Freed from corporate mandates, the publisher may now offer more flexible deals and creative autonomy. Games like Innchanted, Wantless, and News Tower remain in active development and publishing pipelines.

Whether you’re a developer or a fan of the label’s unique catalog, this independence brings the possibility of more daring, developer-driven projects.

Looking Ahead

Twin Sails Interactive is expected to make announcements regarding upcoming titles and publishing initiatives in the coming months. For now, this bold move marks a new chapter in the studio’s journey—one that could set it apart in a competitive indie and mid-tier publishing market.
