God of Weapons – PS5 key art with logo and armored character

God of Weapons Is Back – Now Slashing onto PlayStation 5

Posted on July 28, 2025July 30, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

The tactical arena survival hit brings its roguelike chaos to PS5 on July 31

God of Weapons, the arena survival roguelike developed by Vietnamese indie team Archmage Labs, is officially coming to PlayStation 5 on July 31, 2025. First launched on Steam in 2023 and later released for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in June 2025, this fast-paced isometric action RPG has built a strong reputation for its chaotic gameplay and deep gear mechanics. PS5 players can wishlist or pre-order it now via the PlayStation Store.

A Fan-Favorite Roguelike with Tactical Depth

Praised for its tight combat and clever inventory system, God of Weapons blends bullet hell mechanics with roguelike progression and action RPG elements. Players fight through waves of relentless monsters across the floors of the Tower of Zhor, where each level is procedurally generated and each run offers a new set of randomized gear and enemy patterns.

The game currently boasts an 85% positive rating on Steam from over 4,300 players. Its Xbox release holds a Metascore of 74/100, reflecting solid critical reception for its addictive loop and combat strategy. It’s a much smaller title compared to big upcoming shooters like Battlefield 6, but it delivers a focused, satisfying gameplay loop that fans of the genre love.

Inventory Tetris Meets Monster Mayhem

Weapons in God of Weapons attack automatically, so the player’s job is to manage their movement, dodges, and equipment loadout. Strategic inventory space usage plays a major role—every weapon, accessory, and bonus item takes up physical room in your gear grid, forcing you to make tough choices mid-run.

Between runs, players unlock upgrades, gather more powerful gear, and tweak their builds to climb higher and last longer. It’s a constant balancing act between survival, risk, and reward.

Key Features

  • Arena survival gameplay with escalating challenges
  • Fast-paced auto-combat with tactical movement
  • Bullet hell, roguelike, and ARPG fusion
  • Procedurally generated floors and enemy waves
  • Inventory-based gear system with limited space
  • Over 100 weapons, items, and abilities to combine
