What We Look for in Ultrawide Support

When we call something good ultrawide support, resolution alone is not enough. We look at several things:

• Gameplay framing: does the wider aspect ratio reveal more of the scene, or simply crop the image?
• Field of view: can it be adjusted without distortion or an extreme fisheye effect?
• HUD and menus: are interface elements positioned sensibly instead of being stretched to the far edges?
• Cutscenes: do cinematics support the wider display or fall back to pillarboxed 16:9?
• Performance: does the extra pixel load introduce a major performance penalty?
• Consistency: does support work across gameplay, menus and cinematics rather than only in selected scenes?
