Football Manager 27 is redesigning its interface around fewer clicks, better scaling and proper ultrawide support
Sports Interactive has revealed the first major Football Manager 27 feature deep dive ahead of its November 2026 launch, with a redesigned navigation system, more customisation and an interface built to make better use of ultrawide displays.
For PC players, one of the most interesting confirmations is ultrawide monitor support. FM27 is designed to recognise a relevant ultrawide display automatically, while tables and information-heavy screens can rescale to show more columns and make better use of the available horizontal space.
That matters because ultrawide support is about more than simply stretching an interface across a wider panel. We recently looked at the same problem with The Alters and the difference between filling an ultrawide screen and actually designing around one. FM27 appears to be tackling that problem directly by changing screen composition according to the display and resolution being used.

Ultrawide is more than simply filling the screen
Sports Interactive says the UI logic has been reworked so FM27 can adapt to screen size and resolution settings, changing layouts to display more useful information while reducing empty space. Tables are designed to show as much information as possible both vertically and horizontally, and custom views can be used alongside the new scaling system.
Three information-density options are available through Preferences: Default, Detailed and Condensed. The aim is to let players choose between larger interface elements or fitting more information onto the same display.

There is an important limitation to the announcement, though. Sports Interactive says fully optimised layouts for every possible screen and setup are not possible. Ultrawide support is confirmed, but that is not the same as confirming that every 21:9 or 32:9 configuration will be flawless. That is something we will want to test directly.
FM27 is also cutting down the number of clicks
The wider interface overhaul moves most navigation into redesigned primary and secondary menus across the top of the screen. Main areas now include Portal, Squad, Tactics, Recruitment, Training and Club, with more information opening as full-screen experiences instead of repeatedly sending players through smaller cards and windows.

Messages are being redesigned as well. Categories are colour-coded, important information such as scout reports can appear directly inside the message, and multiple transfer offers for the same player can be grouped together rather than generating duplicate items.
Customisation is expanding through remappable keyboard shortcuts, rearrangeable bookmarks, selectable landing screens for major navigation sections and tile swapping. Sports Interactive says the changes are partly based on community feedback and are intended to bring back some familiar behaviours for long-time Football Manager players.
Football Manager 27 launches in November
Football Manager 27 is scheduled to launch in November 2026, with the exact release date still to be announced. Sports Interactive says more feature deep dives will follow before launch.
The currently confirmed lineup includes FM27 on PC and Mac through Steam, Epic Games Store and the Xbox PC app, alongside FM27 Console for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. FM27 Mobile will be available on iOS and Android through Netflix. Sports Interactive has also confirmed there will be no FM27 version for Nintendo Switch or Xbox One.
For now, the ultrawide work is one of the more practical improvements revealed in the first feature drop. Football Manager has always been a game built around dense tables, lists and statistics, so a wider display should be an advantage when the interface actually knows what to do with the extra space.
