Ultrawide support is no longer a small side feature for PC players
With more players using 21:9 and 32:9 displays, games need to handle wider aspect ratios better from the start.
Do games really need ultrawide support? Yes, they do.
Not every PC player uses a standard 16:9 monitor anymore. For many players, 21:9 and even 32:9 displays are now their normal setup. That means games should handle wider aspect ratios properly, not stretch the image, cut off menus, hide UI, or expose strange camera edges.
This is why the question around The Alters and ultrawide support is worth asking. Is it updated? Is it optimized? Will upcoming content change anything for wider displays? Right now, the honest answer is simple: we need to wait and see.
Watch: The Alters in 32:9 Ultrawide
Our earlier public footage shows The Alters running in 32:9 ultrawide. That is why the current discussion is interesting for players using wider monitors. If it appeared to work before for some setups, it is fair to ask what the current state of support actually is.
This older footage is not confirmation that current or future builds fully support every ultrawide setup. It simply shows why the question matters.
Good ultrawide support does not need to be perfect in every single scene, but the basics should be there. Gameplay should frame correctly, menus should scale, HUD elements should stay readable, and cutscenes should avoid awkward cropping where possible.
Ultrawide is not just a luxury anymore. For a growing number of PC players, it is simply how they play.
