Incident Archives – Flight 882 Crosses 10,000 Players

Incident Archives – Flight 882 Crosses 10,000 Players Days After Launch

The free psychological horror game from solo developer Astronix Games has reached its first major player milestone only days after release.

Incident Archives – Flight 882 has crossed 10,000 players following its August 19 launch on Steam.

Astronix Games announced the milestone in an official Steam update, just a few days after the short psychological horror game became available for free.

10,000 Players in the First Few Days

In the announcement, developer Suyash said: “I just checked the stats and saw we crossed 10,000 players.”

He described seeing that many people playing his short psychological horror game as surreal for a solo developer and thanked everyone who has been streaming and sharing it online since launch.

That is a fast start for a game built around a very short experience. Incident Archives – Flight 882 takes roughly 20 minutes to complete and puts players in the role of a First Officer on a night flight that gradually turns from routine into something much more unsettling.

We reviewed Incident Archives – Flight 882 before launch, giving it 10/10 and naming it an Indie Gem of the Day. The game’s Steam page is now also displaying our review quote.

A Strong Early Milestone for a Solo Developer

The 10,000 figure is specifically a player milestone. Astronix Games has not described it as 10,000 concurrent players or 10,000 downloads, so those numbers should not be treated as the same thing.

What it does show is that the free horror game has already reached a sizeable audience during its opening days.

For a focused solo-developed game that can be finished in around the length of a TV episode, reaching 10,000 players this quickly gives Astronix Games an encouraging start for the Incident Archives name.

Incident Archives – Flight 882 is available free on Steam.
