The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gets New Expansion Songs of the Past in 2027

Posted on May 28, 2026May 30, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Geralt Returns for One More Path

CD PROJEKT RED has announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, a third expansion for the acclaimed open-world RPG. The new expansion is planned for release in 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The announcement brings Geralt of Rivia back for a brand-new adventure more than a decade after The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first launched in 2015. For players who still see The Witcher 3 as one of the strongest RPGs ever made, this is a big surprise.

CD PROJEKT RED is co-developing Songs of the Past with Fool’s Theory, a studio that includes developers who previously worked on The Witcher 3. More details about the expansion are expected in late summer 2026.

The base game has sold more than 60 million copies worldwide and has won more than 250 Game of the Year awards. With Songs of the Past, CD PROJEKT RED is returning to one of its most important games while the wider Witcher universe continues to grow.

More information is available through the official CD PROJEKT RED announcement.
