Survival in Mount Washington State Park

The game begins with a winter hike that turns into a fight for survival. Players have to manage cold, wildlife, limited supplies, shelter, crafting, and a sanity system while moving through snow-covered forests and mountains.

Gameplay and Early Impressions

Earlier in 2024 I had spent time with Winter Survival and came away interested in how it combined survival systems with mental pressure. The game mixed combat, stealth, base building, and crafting with the constant threat of worsening conditions.

Cold Wave

Cold Wave was scheduled for July 24, 2024 and was designed around progressively worsening weather. The idea was to force players to plan ahead, manage resources carefully, and adapt as conditions became more hostile.

Community and Early Access

DRAGO Entertainment was actively asking players for feedback as the Early Access version evolved. Cold Wave was another step in that process, adding a more punishing option for players who wanted the weather itself to become a larger part of the challenge.
