Dead Island 2 Haus update featuring zombie combat and new expansion artwork

Latest Update on Dead Island 2 Meet the Ultimate Ng Challenge

Posted on October 15, 2024October 22, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Dead Island 2 Evolves with a Fresh New Game Plus Experience

Dambuster Studio has supercharged Dead Island 2 with a brand-new New Game Plus (NG+) mode, offering players an upgraded challenge and a reason to dive back into the blood-soaked streets of Los Angeles. According to Tim Donks, Senior Designer, and James Gamlin, Associate Lead Level Designer, the mode was designed to give fans new ways to experience the game with their favorite characters—minus the campaign’s lengthy prologue.

A New Spin on Survival

In this reimagined post-apocalyptic LA, players skip straight into the chaos with new gameplay dynamics and zombie behavior. The NG+ mode introduces Revenant zombies—upgraded versions of the fearsome Apex enemies. These undead foes have advanced attack patterns and higher resilience, forcing players to rethink their combat tactics and weapon loadouts. Even veteran slayers will need to stay sharp.

Alongside these tougher enemies, players can now utilize the Masochist skill card to elevate the challenge even further. Each battle in Hell-A becomes an opportunity to master new strategies and fine-tune every swing, shot, and dodge.
