Payday 3

The Sequel to a Legendary Heist Series

PAYDAY 3 is the much-anticipated sequel to one of the most popular co-op shooters ever. Since its release, PAYDAY players have been revelling in the thrill of perfectly planned and executed heists. That’s what makes PAYDAY a high-octane, co-op FPS experience without equal.

Back to Crime: The Payday Gang Returns

Step out of retirement and back into the life of crime in the shoes of the Payday Gang, the envy of their peers and the nightmare of law enforcement wherever they go. Several years after their reign of terror over Washington D.C. has ended, the crew reunites to deal with a threat that rouses them from early retirement.

PAYDAY 3

Release Date: September 21, 2023

Genre: Co-op FPS, Heist, Action

Developer: Starbreeze Studios

Publisher: Deep Silver

Platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5

Gameplay Experience and Technical Hurdles

The gameplay was captured using the Super Ultra-Wide monitor AOC Agon AG493UCX2. My review of PAYDAY 3 comes after observing its “Mostly Negative” reception on Steam. I tested the PAYDAY 3 Beta earlier in 2023, and despite the negative feedback, I had to experience it for myself.

Was the Delay Worth It?

The question is: was the delay in engaging with the game justified, and have the initial issues been addressed? While I didn’t delve deep into specific reviews, my personal experience did reveal technical challenges. The game suffered from lag, stuttering, extended matchmaking times, and occasional freezing during loading screens post-mission. These issues undoubtedly detracted from the overall enjoyment.

Comparing PAYDAY 3 to Its Predecessor

Many players still prefer PAYDAY 2. While PAYDAY 3 offers exciting missions—from cooking meth in a basement lab to executing bank robberies and stealth operations—it doesn’t fully compensate for its technical flaws. Ideally, sequels should improve upon their predecessors, so there’s potential for PAYDAY 3 to evolve with time.

Final Thoughts

I’d suggest waiting a few months before diving into PAYDAY 3, hoping that updates will enhance the game. If the developers address the technical issues and expand the content, it could rise to the high standards fans expect. I’ll provide an update if there’s new content and notable improvements.
