Zombie Assault: Resurgence demo features three classes, three maps, and two bosses during Next Fest

Posted on February 20, 2026February 28, 2026 By Aidan Minter

A new Steam Next Fest demo arrives February 23

Zombie Assault: Resurgence is heading into Steam Next Fest with a playable demo starting February 23 (running through March 2). It’s a top-down shooter with RPG progression and upgradeable weapons, playable solo or in co-op with up to four players.

If you’ve been following the flood of Next Fest demos, here are two recent ones we covered:
Arcane Overdrive
and
Wildkeepers Rising.

According to Ninja Kiwi’s latest dev diary, the Next Fest demo is built as a “vertical slice” of the core loop — giving players enough room to test builds, try classes, and get a feel for the chaos, without showing everything planned for full launch.

Community kill-count challenge

During the demo window, every zombie kill contributes to a global community total. If the target is hit by the end of Next Fest, everyone who played the demo will unlock an exclusive weapon at full launch: the Morlok Frostbite Pistol. Progress is being tracked via zombieassault.com.
