Artwork for Wildkeepers Rising featuring Guardians in action

Wildkeepers Rising Brings Creature Chaos to Steam Next Fest

Posted on February 21, 2025July 3, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Get ready to dive into a fast-paced fusion of creature collecting and roguelite action as Wildkeepers Rising, the newest title from Lioncode Games, prepares to make its public demo debut during Steam Next Fest. The studio has also officially announced the Early Access release date—March 31, 2025.

A Frenetic Mix of Guardians and Chaos

Wildkeepers Rising blends high-speed horde battles with the collectible charm of monster taming. The action is intense, with players controlling a customizable Wildkeeper who’s joined by powerful, whimsical allies called Guardians. Inspired by the iconic creature design style of Akira Toriyama, each Guardian brings its own distinct abilities and combat flair.

Build Your Dream Team of Guardians

Each run offers a new chance to collect and upgrade your roster. Players will encounter a wide range of Guardians, each designed to synergize in surprising ways. Unleash devastating special attacks, combine abilities, and experiment with team builds that keep each playthrough fresh and strategic.

Bullet Heaven Meets Narrative Adventure

The world of Wildkeepers Rising is under siege, and as the ancient Wildkeeper magic fades, waves of corrupted creatures threaten to take over. It’s up to you to explore diverse maps, battle massive enemy swarms, and uncover the secrets behind this growing menace. Between fights, you’ll complete quests, capture new allies, and grow stronger with each attempt.

Try the Demo at Steam Next Fest

The game’s demo is already available on Steam and will be a featured title during Steam Next Fest. If you’re a fan of action roguelites or just want a taste of the Guardian system in action, this is the perfect time to jump in and see what all the buzz is about.

Key Features

  • Collect and upgrade unique Guardians with powerful synergies
  • Fast-paced, top-down action roguelite with bullet heaven mechanics
  • Quest-driven narrative structure with diverse biomes
  • Replayability with randomized encounters and progression paths
