Puck’n Hell is Fix Gaming Channel’s Game of the Week #65, turning the familiar physical game of air hockey into a dark, physics-driven battle against condemned opponents.
Air hockey needs almost no explanation. Protect your goal, control the angles, and send the puck past whoever is standing on the other side of the table.
Puck’n Hell takes that simple foundation and moves it into a café in limbo, where five unusual opponents are waiting to test your reactions.
Following Hell Clock, our Game of the Week #64, this week’s selection is smaller, stranger, and surprisingly faithful to the physical game that inspired it.

Back at the air hockey table
The real version was my thing years ago. My reaction time also felt about ten times faster back then, so several decades away from air hockey may explain some of what happened when I played the demo.
What impressed me was how close Puck’n Hell feels to physical air hockey. The direction of each strike counts, the rebounds feel believable, and one poor movement can leave the goal completely exposed.
It respects the physical game rather than burying it beneath complicated abilities and unnecessary systems. You read the puck, predict the rebound, and try to react before your opponent does.
The second opponent destroyed me
The first opponent gave me enough time to understand the controls. The second was a completely different experience and was pretty much impossible for me to beat.
That may say more about my decades away from air hockey than the game itself. I am also blaming the controller. I normally play with a keyboard and mouse, so that is my official excuse.
More seriously, the second opponent probably demonstrates the higher skill levels waiting later in the game. That is only my guess, but the increase in difficulty was immediate. It reacted quickly, defended well, and punished almost every poor shot or bad position.

Despite losing badly, I enjoyed the demo. It showed how much distance there may be between understanding the game and mastering it, which is exactly what good arcade competition should do.

The angles, rebounds, reactions, and punishment for bad positioning remain central. The second opponent may have destroyed me, but it also showed the potential skill ceiling.
