Bang on Balls Chronicles

Posted on November 29, 2023January 16, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Quirky, content-rich, and unapologetically bonkers—Bang-On Balls: Chronicles returns with platforming mayhem and ridiculous fun for co-op chaos seekers.

Sometimes, it’s not about reinventing the ball—it’s about doubling down on the madness that made it great in the first place. In this revisit to Bang-On Balls: Chronicles, the offbeat sandbox platformer from Exit Plan Games, we’re greeted with the same unhinged, physics-driven fun we first rolled into in 2022. And guess what? It still hits hard—in a rubbery, bouncy kind of way.

Rolling Through Chaos: What’s the Gameplay Like?

Bang-On Balls: Chronicles lets you roll, bash, and bounce through destructible open-world maps inspired by historical eras. From Viking invasions to Cold War spy missions, it’s less about realism and more about goofy mayhem—like a sandbox crossed with Saturday morning cartoons.

Co-op and Customization

Whether you play solo, split screen with a buddy, or online with up to 4 players, the game’s strength lies in cooperative chaos. There are no paywalled cosmetics—what you earn in-game, you keep. Character customization is broad, silly, and fully integrated into gameplay.

Déjà Vu or Timeless Fun?

I originally covered this game in 2022, and coming back to it now, it really feels like nothing major has changed. But that’s not a complaint. It’s still a solid, polished experience—just with a sense of familiarity that makes you wonder if a bigger leap could’ve made it even better.

Is That a Bad Thing?

Not necessarily. If you liked it before, you’ll still enjoy it now. The puzzles remain clever, the worlds are dense with secrets, and the action keeps a brisk, cartoonish pace. There’s not much challenge for hardcore players, but it’s accessible, chaotic fun for everyone else.

Should You Pick It Up?

If you’re after a lighthearted co-op adventure with plenty of charm, Bang-On Balls: Chronicles delivers. It doesn’t try to be more than what it is—and that self-awareness is part of its goofy genius. Whether you’re smashing historical props or chasing collectible madness, this game is a joyride through absurdity.
