Promotional art for Cloudheim – a co-op action RPG by Noodle Cat Games

Cloudheim Unveiled a New Era of Co Op Action Rpg Full of Destruction and Discovery

Posted on February 17, 2025June 26, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A new force in co-op RPGs is on the horizon. Cloudheim, the upcoming action RPG from indie studio Noodle Cat Games, is preparing to redefine how we think about destruction, combos, and team-based gameplay. Slated for release in 2025, this stylized fantasy adventure brings together breakable environments, co-op chaos, and fighting game mechanics like juggling to create something truly fresh.

Gameplay That Embraces Chaos and Creativity

In Cloudheim, nothing is safe—not even the environment. The game allows players to wreak havoc in a fully destructible world, using both the terrain and their arsenal to outsmart enemies. Whether playing solo or with up to three friends in online co-op, the experience is tuned for high energy and full-throttle combat.

At the heart of Cloudheim is the “juggling” mechanic, a staple of classic fighting games reimagined here as the backbone of an RPG system. This isn’t just about button-mashing. Players are encouraged to chain attacks, improvise physics-based combos, and use their surroundings creatively.

Weapons, Upgrades, and Base Customization

Every journey in Cloudheim is personal. Players can craft and evolve weapons, unlocking new abilities and experimenting with different combat flows. There’s also a deep base customization system—a social hub and tactical advantage all in one. Expect a layered progression system, intertwined with team synergy and strategy.

A Studio Built on Big Experience and Indie Passion

While Noodle Cat Games is proudly indie, its pedigree is anything but amateur. The studio was founded by developers with experience at Epic Games, EA, Bioware, Codemasters, and Disney. That fusion of AAA insight and indie freedom has helped shape Cloudheim into a uniquely ambitious project.

David Hunt, CEO and Founder of Noodle Cat Games, shared his vision:
“Our core gameplay began with a simple question – what if we take the juggling from fighting games, and make it the combat foundation in a co-op action RPG? Mix in a hauntingly beautiful world, a chaotic symphony of physics combos, and base customization – that’s Cloudheim.”
