EA Sports FC 26 Is 80% Off, And The Timing Is No Accident

Posted on July 3, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

EA Sports FC 26 Drops To 80% Off On Steam

EA Sports FC 26 is now heavily discounted on Steam, and the timing says more than the price tag.

EA Sports FC 26 is currently 80% off on Steam, making the football game much easier to recommend than it was at full price.

At first glance, that kind of discount can look like a warning sign. But for an annual sports game, the move makes sense. The game is deep into its release cycle, the Steam Summer Sale is live, and EA has fresh international football content to push.

Why Is EA Sports FC 26 So Cheap Now?

The easy answer is timing. The Steam Summer Sale runs from June 25 to July 9, 2026, and big publishers often use this window to move older or mid-cycle releases at much lower prices.

The other part is the yearly sports-game cycle. Football games lose full-price strength fast once the next season starts getting closer. EA would rather bring more players into EA Sports FC 26 now than leave them waiting for the next entry.

There is also the new The World’s Game content. The update adds a 48-team international tournament mode, international-themed Manager Live Challenges, weekly Festival of Football campaigns in Football Ultimate Team, and more. That makes the discount feel less like a simple clearance sale and more like EA trying to pull players back while international football attention is high.

Is EA Sports FC 26 Worth It At 80% Off?

At full price, EA Sports FC 26 is a harder recommendation. It is still annual football, and players who already own last year’s game may not feel a huge reason to jump in.

At 80% off, the answer changes. If you want a cheap football game for Career Mode, Kick-Off, Clubs, or casual online play, this is a fair deal.

If you mainly play Football Ultimate Team and hate the grind, the sale price will not fix that. If you already stopped playing last year’s game, this discount may not change much either.

So no, the big discount does not automatically mean EA Sports FC 26 is dead. It means EA is using the sale, the update, and the football calendar to move more copies before the next entry takes over.
