Brutal Co-op Carnage Returns in This Reimagined Action-Shooter from Anshar Studios

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – June 24, 2025 — Fans of high-octane shooters, mark your calendars: Painkiller is back. Saber Interactive’s 3D Realms label and developer Anshar Studios have announced that the modern reimagining of the cult-classic shooter will officially launch on October 9, 2025, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The game supports up to three-player online co-op and promises a relentless dive into purgatory, where players will battle demonic hordes, titanic bosses, and twisted landscapes. Pre-orders for both the Standard and Deluxe Editions are now live, and fans who jump in early can snag exclusive character and weapon skins.

Pre-Order Details

The Standard Edition is priced at $39.99 and includes the “Iron Crusade” pre-order bonus skin pack. This includes skins for all four main characters—Ink, Void, Sol, and Roch—along with golden skins for six core weapons: Electrodriver, Stakegun, Shotgun, SMG, Hand Cannon, and Rocket Launcher.

Console players who opt for the physical edition of the Standard release will also receive the retail-exclusive “Burnished Pride” weapon pack featuring additional gold skins.

The Deluxe Edition, available for $49.99, includes everything from the Standard plus access to three post-launch DLC packs, each offering six weapon skins and four character skins.Players engage in a chaotic firefight deep in a crumbling underground tunnel, facing off against a demonic enemy engulfed in flames. The scene highlights the co-op gameplay and gothic atmosphere of Painkiller's reimagined world.
