Facebook users hit by “Something went wrong” error as outage reports climb
Some Facebook users are seeing a “Sorry! Something went wrong :(” message today, with the platform failing to load properly across more than one browser.
The issue does not appear to be limited to Chrome. Reports from several outlets point to wider Facebook problems on Friday, with users mentioning login trouble, feed issues, and error messages.
MySA reported that more than 100,000 Facebook outage complaints had been logged on Down Detector, while CT Insider reported Facebook and Instagram access issues for some users Friday morning.

Meta’s business status page still showed no known issues for several business products when checked, so the problem may not be hitting every Meta service equally.
For users seeing the error, the usual steps are worth trying: refresh the page, try another browser, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or check again later. If Facebook fails in more than one browser or on more than one device, the issue is more likely on Facebook’s side than with the user’s setup.
This is a developing situation and may clear quickly for some users while others continue seeing the error.
