Reaper Actual squad standing in front of helicopter – promotional key art with logo

Reaper Actual: Can This PvPvEvE Shooter Really Stand Out?

Posted on July 5, 2025July 13, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Another one? That was my first thought when I saw Reaper Actual pop up. Yet another* PvPvEvE tactical shooter promising raids, extractions, and persistent worlds. And to be fair, we’ve already heard it all before.

But then I looked closer… and maybe, just maybe, this one’s got something.

The PvPvE Pileup: What’s One More?

2025’s already loaded with tactical FPS games trying to blend multiplayer chaos with survival and base building. Here’s just a few competing for your attention:

  • Den of Wolves – cinematic heist shooter with co-op tension
  • Zero Six: Behind Enemy Lines – squad-based realism
  • Hyenas (RIP?) – flashy, fast, and gone
  • Delta Force: Hawk Ops – rebooting a classic with modern warfare
  • Call of Duty: Warzone – still going strong, still dominating

So when Reaper Actual promises 200-player servers, base raiding, vehicle combat, and an open-world with real consequences… yeah, I raise an eyebrow. But I’m listening.

Reaper Actual’s Core Pitch

Here’s the deal: You drop into a 16×12 km island. You build a base. You raid others. You complete missions. You deal with AI factions and real players. If you make too much noise, the world comes for you. And yes—it’s all persistent. Your progress, your gear, your base… and your reputation.

This isn’t about killstreaks or K/D ratios. This is about keeping your home intact and your stash secured. Lose a fight, and it’s not just respawn and retry. You might lose everything.

Does the Name Save It?

Let’s be honest: if this wasn’t backed by former devs from Planetside and H1Z1, it’d probably fly under the radar. In fact, it still might. There are just too many shooters trying to reinvent the wheel. But what makes Reaper Actual interesting is how it leans into persistence.

This isn’t just a match-based shooter with loot. It’s a world. A war. A risk. And the moment you feel safe? That’s probably when someone kicks your door in.

So… Another One, or The One?

I’ve played too many “next big things” to fall for hype alone. But Reaper Actual feels like it’s at least trying to do more than just copy what’s hot. It’s not chasing DMZ. It’s building a battlefield you actually live in.

Will it work? No idea. But I’ll say this — if they deliver what they’re teasing, this might be one of the few new PvPvEvE shooters worth watching in 2025.

Looking for Another Underdog Shooter?

If you missed it, we also covered Alpha Response, the new FPS from the co-creator of Counter-Strike. Another game trying to rise above the noise—different feel, same uphill battle.
