ASTROBOTANICA Successfully Hits Kickstarter Funding Goal in Under a Week!

Alien gardening meets sci-fi survival—Space Goblin Studio’s botany adventure surpasses its funding target ahead of schedule.

It didn’t take long for players to root for this game—literally. In just six days, ASTROBOTANICA, the sci-fi botany survival game by Space Goblin Studio, has reached its Kickstarter goal of £25,000. With the campaign running until May 8, 2025, the developers are now pushing toward exciting stretch goals, shaped by feedback from their growing community.

Kickstarter Milestone Achieved

With over 830 backers rallying behind the project, ASTROBOTANICA surpassed its goal in record time. This early success has unlocked momentum for stretch goals that were handpicked through community votes via the game’s Discord server.

First Stretch Goals

  • £30,000 – Taming Pets: Players will be able to tame and care for animals within their settlements.
  • £35,000 – Fishing Mechanic: Adds bait crafting, fishing gear, and water-based survival strategies.
  • £40,000 – Building Plus: Enables more advanced building mechanics and expanded structure interactions.

Developer Gratitude and Community Involvement

Arkadiusz Woźniak, Game Director of ASTROBOTANICA, expressed his excitement:

“I’m incredibly grateful to announce that, thanks to your amazing support, Astrobotanica has officially reached its initial funding goal! We are thrilled by your trust and belief in our vision and look forward to an exciting summer as we develop this game together.”

Space Goblin Studio is actively involving the community in shaping upcoming features, and a closed alpha playtest is planned for this summer.

Steam Deck and Portable Gaming

The team has also begun testing for Steam Deck compatibility, ensuring that portable gamers can enjoy ASTROBOTANICA on the go without compromise. This move further broadens the game’s accessibility and player reach.

Campaign Details:

The Kickstarter campaign will continue through May 8, 2025.
Backers are invited to an exclusive closed alpha playtest this Summer.
The campaign offers various pledge tiers with exclusive in-game items and opportunities to leave a personal footprint within the game.

At its core, ASTROBOTANICA is about survival through scientific discovery. You won’t just fight to live—you’ll study, cultivate, and adapt.

  • 🔍 Plant Research: Study alien flora and learn their environmental benefits and hazards.
  • ⚗️ Tonics Crafting: Create tonics from your botanical findings for healing and survival.
  • 🌱 Cultivation: Grow crops, tend gardens, and protect your plants from threats.
  • 🥾 Exploration: Travel between islands filled with unique challenges and ecosystems.
  • 🤝 Human Interaction: Trade, ally, and cooperate with NPC factions for survival and progression.
