A Dense Fog, a Massive World, and the Start of Something Great
I’m doing a giveaway for two Steam keys for Enshrouded! If you’ve been curious about this intriguing survival RPG, this is a great chance to jump in. Check the video description on my channel for all the details.
Initial Impressions
I recently played Enshrouded, and the experience left a strong impression. Set in a world blanketed by a mysterious fog, it crafts an atmosphere that feels both foreboding and exciting. The game’s early access status is clear, but what’s already here is promising.
Combat and Exploration
Combat in Enshrouded is a major highlight. It’s fluid, responsive, and far more refined than I expected at this stage. The mix of melee, ranged weapons, and magic abilities gives players a lot of options, and it keeps encounters feeling dynamic. Some of the character animations could use polishing, but that’s not uncommon in early access builds.
Movement Tools That Add Depth
The grappling hook and glider really elevate the game’s exploration. They add verticality and make traversal across its large open world genuinely fun, though the stamina drain during climbing could use some balancing.
Base Building and Open Gameplay
The building system is robust and well-integrated. After completing a short tutorial-style questline, the game opens up nicely, offering a blend of sandbox creativity and structured progression. It’s satisfying to build a base and then venture out into unknown territory with purpose.

Enshrouded
Release Date: 24 Jan, 2024
Genre: Survival, Action RPG, Crafting
Developer/Publisher: Keen Games GmbH
Platforms: Steam (PC)
Where It Can Improve
The weapon variety feels limited for now, and the soundtrack, while atmospheric, lacks memorable themes. I also ran into a few technical hiccups here and there, but nothing game-breaking. These are areas I hope to see improved in future updates.
Final Thoughts
Enshrouded already has the foundation of a strong survival-action experience. The fog-covered world is compelling, the combat feels right, and the building and exploration systems work well together. If the developers continue to refine and expand the game, this could easily become a standout title in the genre.
