Firestoke was led by veteran developers including CEO Paul Farley and Design Director Omar Khalil.
Despite nearing profitability, Firestoke was unable to secure new investment. CEO Paul Farley shared the following statement:
“Despite being on the path towards profitability, the harsh reality is that we ran out of runway and found the current fundraising environment a hurdle we couldn’t overcome. In lieu of a hit game unfortunately there wasn’t any way to continue the journey.”
Firestoke is currently working to rehome its games and partner studios. Farley added:
“There are no regrets. We signed great games, built a capable small team, and created solid internal processes. It’s been a fun ride while it lasted.”
Firestoke’s closure follows a wider pattern in 2025 of studios and publishers downsizing or shutting down, as seen in our fact-checked report on the Virtuos layoffs.
