Battlefield 6 Secure Boot Error – How to Fix on Steam
EA’s anti-cheat for Battlefield 6 requires UEFI Secure Boot to be enabled — even if you’re playing on Steam. If it’s off, the game won’t launch and you’ll see the Secure Boot error before the game loads. Step 1: Check if Secure Boot is Disabled
- Press Win + R, type
msinfo32, and press Enter. - Look for Secure Boot State:
- If it says On You’re good.
- If it says Off or Unsupported, follow the steps below.
Step 2: Enable Secure Boot on Gigabyte Motherboards
(Example: B650M AORUS ELITE AX — steps are similar on other Gigabyte boards)
- Restart your PC and tap the DEL key repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Press F2 to switch to Advanced Mode.
- Go to BIOS → CSM Support → set to Disabled.
- Save and reboot back into BIOS.
- Go to Settings → Miscellaneous or Boot → Secure Boot → set to Enabled.
- Set Secure Boot Mode to Standard (not Custom).
- Save & Exit (F10).
Important Notes
- Secure Boot requires UEFI mode and a GPT-formatted drive.
- If your system is set to Legacy/MBR, you’ll need to convert to GPT before enabling Secure Boot (backup recommended).
- This requirement applies to all platforms — Steam, EA App, and Epic Games Store.
