Scammers Exploit Hype Around Subnautica 2 with Fake Early Access Offers

Scammers are still trying to cash in on the excitement for Subnautica 2, with new waves of fake early access promotions continuing to appear across the internet. Despite developer warnings, unsuspecting players are being targeted with promises of “free” early access, mostly through suspicious websites and direct messages.


How the Scam Works

Since February 2025, fraudulent offers for Subnautica 2 early access have circulated on platforms like Steam, often showing up as direct messages or sketchy forum posts. The most common links include URLs such as:

  • subnautica2.get-early-access.com

The developers behind Subnautica have issued a clear warning: Any legitimate Subnautica 2 announcements or invites will only come from official sources and never through random DMs or unofficial sites. Always verify communications by checking for emails from the official domain or by visiting the Unknown Worlds website.
