Genre: Soulslike, Action RPG, Adventure
Developer/Publisher: NEOWIZ / Round8 Studio
Platforms:
PC (Steam),

Not Just for the Hardcore
Director Jiwon Choi explained the studio’s reasoning behind this shift—one that’s rarely seen in the typically punishing genre:
“We wanted to make sure a wider audience of players could play the game,” said Choi.
When asked whether this direction was inspired by community input, he didn’t hesitate:
“Absolutely, we have a lot of feedback from customers, and from our developers. So by making development adjustments and introducing these difficulty options, we can offer the experience to different types of players. This broadens the base.”
Three Ways to Play
The game will offer three difficulty modes in total:
- Legendary Stalker – The standard Lies of P experience.
- Butterfly’s Guidance – A more forgiving path through the horrors.
- Awakened Puppet – Presumably the toughest trial for masochistic thrill-seekers.
Expansion and What’s Next
Lies of P originally launched in September 2023 across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. The game surpassed 1 million copies sold within a month of release—a milestone that helped secure its status as one of the genre’s breakout hits. A full sequel is already in development at Round8 Studio, as confirmed by the team.
Whether you’re new to the genre or a seasoned Soulslike player, the upcoming Overture expansion seems poised to offer a new level of flexibility without compromising the challenge that Lies of P fans have come to love.
