Lies of P: Overture DLC Surprise Launch Brings Fresh Challenges and Dark Secrets

Posted on June 20, 2025May 2, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Lies of P Overture DLC Gets Major Update in Patch 1.9.0.0

New Boss Modes, Difficulty Settings, and Fixes Roll Out Just Weeks After Launch

Just weeks after the surprise launch of Lies of P: Overture at Summer Game Fest, NEOWIZ and ROUND8 Studio have released a significant update—version 1.9.0.0—adding fresh content and important fixes for the DLC and base game. While the expansion invited players to revisit Krat’s dark origins, this update now enhances that experience with refined balance, new boss challenge modes, and a long list of bug fixes.

Lies of P: Overture

Release Date: June 7, 2025

Genre: Souls-like, Action, Adventure, Dark Fantasy, RPG

Developer/Publisher: ROUND8 Studio / NEOWIZ

Genre: Souls-like, Dark Fantasy, Action, RPG

Platforms: Steam, PlayStation, Xbox

DLC Now Accessible Earlier in NG+

If you’re starting a second playthrough, the update now makes it easier to jump into the Overture DLC. Players can now access the new content from Chapter 5 via the “Path of the Pilgrim” location. A helpful on-screen prompt will guide you there, but only after clearing at least one ending in the base game.

New Boss Modes: Battle Memories & Death March

Two new modes spice up the challenge for those who’ve already completed the main story:

  • Battle Memories: Re-fight previous bosses in enhanced versions. These come with added difficulty layers and are accessible from the Hotel Krat Stargazer.
  • Death March: A brutal gauntlet where bosses appear in sequence with limited health and consumables. It’s a true endurance test that rewards the most seasoned players.

Both features are designed to give more replay value and challenge for endgame players.

Difficulty Settings for New Players

Not everyone wants to be punished for every misstep. The update introduces two new difficulty options that tone down combat while preserving the dark story. These are aimed at players who are more interested in the game’s lore and atmosphere than its grueling combat.

Combat Rebalancing and Adjustments

  • Enemy difficulty has been reduced for repeat playthroughs.
  • Stats for certain field monsters in the first run of Overture have been adjusted for smoother progression.

These changes make the early DLC experience less punishing while keeping the core challenge intact later on.

Bug Fixes in Version 1.9.0.0

The update also addresses several player-reported issues. Key fixes include:

  • Fixed delivery issues for items like the Azure Dragon Crescent Glaive and Winter Festival Peaked Hat. If your bag was full, check your Storage.
  • Resolved quest blocker after giving beer to Salao, the Old Fisherman.
  • Fixed unintended area access glitches.
  • Corrected a bug where the “Monad’s Rose Sword” could launch the player into the air or interrupt record playback in Hotel Krat.
  • Fixed an issue with the Solutionist’s Amulet effect persisting after being unequipped.
  • Visual bug fixes for the “Flamberge” Legion Arm and other UI/translation-related problems.

As always, NEOWIZ recommends keeping your game up to date to avoid crashing or save data errors.
