Warsaw, Poland – September 5, 2024 – The team behind Frostpunk 2 has shared the final episode of the City Unbound dev diary. In it, they reveal a big new feature for the game: multiple colonies. Players will no longer manage only New London but several settlements spread across the frozen world.
Multiple Colonies, Bigger Decisions
Each colony works like a smaller city. It has its people, jobs, and supplies. To create these colonies, players must send some citizens from New London to the new locations.
New London is still in charge – the colonies don’t vote or act on their own – but they need careful planning. A colony can focus on important tasks such as making food or drilling for oil. If you manage them well, they become powerful production hubs that help everyone survive. If you fail, the whole system can crumble.
This new layer makes the game tougher and more exciting. You must balance the needs of New London with the needs of every outpost, knowing that survival is never guaranteed.
