Beast of Reincarnation Shows a New Side of Game Freak on PC and Consoles

Beast of Reincarnation Launches on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Game Freak’s new action RPG combines real-time sword combat with command-based abilities in a post-apocalyptic Japan.

Beast of Reincarnation is now available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S following its August 4, 2026 launch.

Developed by Game Freak and published by Fictions, the single-player action RPG is also available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.

Emma and Koo Face the Blight

The story follows Emma, a survivor able to manipulate plants after being affected by a condition known as blight. She travels alongside Koo, a canine companion who is himself a blighted creature known as a malefact.

Together, the pair travel through Japan in the year 4026 as they search for the Beast of Reincarnation, the source of the blight spreading across the world.

Action Combat With Tactical Commands

Emma fights enemies directly with real-time katana attacks, while Koo’s techniques are activated through a command menu that slows the action and gives players time to choose an ability.

Players can customize both characters using skill trees, equipment, and Spirit Stones. Three difficulty settings are included, ranging from a more forgiving story-focused option to a harder combat challenge.
