A dark medieval fantasy RPG where alchemy-laced combat and physics-driven brutality take centre stage
Alkahest is a new first-person fantasy action-adventure RPG from Cyprus-based developer Push On that bills itself as a spiritual successor to Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, while also citing Dishonored and Kingdom Come: Deliverance as its influences. Aside from traditional ranged and melee weapons of the age, this dark medieval world brings alchemy-laced combat to the fore as players concoct a range of capable potions they can use as throwables to help them on their quest. Combat is physics-driven, close-quarters, creatively insane, and dramatic.

Physics-Driven Combat Keeps the Fight Creative
The physical nature of the combat means that players will need to think fast and use the interactive environment to their advantage, and it takes centre stage in Alkahest. It’s combat where your surroundings can play an active part in your defensive strategy. Pierce oil barrels with your arrow, then follow up with a well-placed arcing shot with a flaming arrow lit from a nearby torch to set your advancing enemy on fire. Hanging objects can be brought down on top of pursuers, and enemy combatants can be kicked into open fires.

It’s the clever combat and physicality that keeps the killing creative, with a physics-led design that proves there’s more than one way to kill a troll.
Impressive Visuals Underscore a Dark Fantasy World
Visually, Alkahest is looking like it’s well on its way to becoming one of the best-looking action-adventure RPGs out there, with some beautiful attention to detail, from the visceral up-close execution moves in melee combat, to the little shake of the wrist as you mix your alchemic potions ready for use.

The dark medieval fantasy setting elevates the game, immersing the player into a believable and visceral world of alchemy-plagued feudal conflict.

Warrior alchemists can explore castles, forests, villages, and other realistic settings, and they can brew their own lethality by following a recipe or by mixing gathered ingredients at their own discretion.
We’re keeping our eye on this one for sure, and with Paraglacials Fatekeeper also in development at the same time, action RPG fans have plenty to be happy about in 2026.
