This announcement lands perfectly with the Steam Space Exploration Fest, running from September 2 to September 9, 2024.

A Homage to Classics with a Lovecraftian Twist
Described by PC Gamer as a game “well worth your time” at its Early Access launch, Underspace draws heavy inspiration from the iconic title Freelancer. It’s an open-world space RPG filled with Lovecraftian themes, rich lore, and meticulously crafted star systems to encourage exploration.
Unlike many modern space sims, Underspace avoids fast travel. Instead, players traverse the universe using station-to-station lanelines, three-tiered engine thrust systems, and jumpgates for long-distance space travel—adding a layer of immersion and strategy.
