Possessed woman beside the Unpossess 2 title

Unpossess 2 Turns Exorcism Into a Co-op Horror Job — Indie Gem of the Day

Posted on August 3, 2026September 18, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A solo developer is turning demonic possession into a four-player job

Unpossess 2: Exorcism Simulator is a first-person horror game in which up to four exorcists must investigate haunted locations, protect their sanity, and free possessed victims.

Developed and published by Chreseeba Games, the game is preparing to enter Steam Early Access on August 21, 2026. A free demo is available now.

We recently selected Who Are You!? as an Indie Gem for turning real UFO research into psychological horror. Unpossess 2 stands out for a different reason: it turns the full exorcism process into a cooperative job rather than one scripted horror sequence.

Find the Evidence Before Starting the Exorcism

Each case requires players to cleanse the haunted location, gather evidence, and determine how to perform the exorcism. Rushing into the ritual unprepared could endanger both the possessed victim and the investigating team.

A possessed victim crawls through one of the game’s darkened locations.

Players must also manage their health and sanity while confronting demonic activity. The game supports solo play, but its four-player structure creates room for teams to divide the investigation and protect one another when the haunting intensifies.

Exorcists must investigate each location and gather evidence before beginning the ritual.

Like Nightmare Shift, the premise starts with a recognizable job before allowing the situation to become increasingly hostile.

A Free Demo Before Early Access

Unpossess 2 is being developed in Unreal Engine 5. The free demo gives players an opportunity to test its investigation, atmosphere, and PC performance before the Early Access release.

Chreseeba Games currently expects Early Access to last approximately three to six months. The initial build will include the central mechanics and a playable foundation, while additional content, balancing, polish, bug fixes, and quality-of-life improvements are planned during development.

Why It Is Our Indie Gem of the Day

Exorcisms are common in horror, but few games make the entire ritual the central cooperative mechanic. Investigating the location, identifying evidence, controlling sanity, and completing the exorcism gives Unpossess 2 a focused identity.

It is immediately testable, built by a solo developer, and designed around a concept that can work both alone and with friends. That makes Unpossess 2: Exorcism Simulator our Indie Gem of the Day.
