Street Fighter 6 Adds Filipino Eskrima Fighter Yasmine

Posted on August 3, 2026September 19, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Year 4 begins with a fast new fighter from the Philippines

Yasmine is now playable in Street Fighter 6, bringing Filipino Eskrima, a karambit knife, and an aggressive fighting style to Capcom’s roster.

Capcom released Yasmine on August 3, 2026, making her the first playable character in the Street Fighter 6 Year 4 lineup.

Her arrival gives the Street Fighter series its first playable Filipino fighter. It also continues a strong period of Filipino visibility in major releases, following the substantial work recently detailed by Ubisoft Philippines on Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

A Rushdown Fighter Built Around Eskrima

Yasmine learned to fight alongside her Kuya, or older brother, under the guidance of their Lolo, or grandfather. She stopped using her karambit after her brother disappeared but eventually resumed fighting while searching for him.

Yasmine combines rapid Eskrima techniques with close-range karambit attacks.

Her high-speed Eskrima attacks are designed to close the distance quickly, extend combinations, and pressure opponents. Several successful moves place her in Bayani Mode, a powered-up state that expands her offensive options.

Daloy ng Tubig is a fast forward-moving knife attack, while Talim ng Hangin sends her spinning into a low sweep. Lipad ng Agila uses a rapid series of airborne kicks, and her Level 3 Super Art, Pamumukadkad ng Sampaguita, finishes with an all-out attack named after the Philippines’ national flower.

Two Outfits and a Full Balance Update

Yasmine’s first outfit uses Eskrima combat clothing, while her second presents her in a school uniform. Outfit 2 can be unlocked by maximizing her Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or purchased with Fighter Coins.

The character is included with the Year 4 Character Pass and Year 4 Ultimate Pass. She can also be purchased separately with Fighter Coins.

Her release is accompanied by balance adjustments and bug fixes across the complete roster. The remaining Year 4 characters are Arjun, Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, and Bosch.
