HR: Human Remains Is Game of the Week #74

Posted on October 4, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A Demonic Office Job With an Unexpectedly Human Story

HR: Human Remains turns corporate routine into surreal horror, then finds warmth inside a world ruled by demons.

HR: Human Remains is Fix Gaming Channel’s Game of the Week #74.

The selection follows Jake Boyette’s complete 9/10 review, which praised the game’s varied horror scenarios, strange characters, bittersweet story, and constant ability to introduce something new.

Why It Stood Out

Developed by dennisCorner and published by Black Lantern Collective, the game places an ordinary office clerk inside a society where demons won the war and the surviving humans still have to work.

That setup could have survived on the joke alone. Instead, the game moves through puzzles, exploration, unsettling encounters, and choices that can lead to different endings. Jake’s review found its strongest quality in the contrast between grotesque horror and unexpectedly sweet character moments.

What Jake Found Inside the Horror

Jake’s review makes clear that the demonic office premise is only the starting point. As he put it, “This simple description really doesn’t do the game justice at all.”

He was especially impressed by how often the experience changes direction: “The gameplay is so varied and unique in each section, taking from other horror gameplay tropes, that I was genuinely surprised each time something new came up.”

The horror is only one part of why the game stayed with him. Reflecting on its story and world, Jake wrote, “It’s somber, but beautiful, especially looking from a forest into the old Reservation.” That balance between fear, sadness, humor, and hope is what pushes HR: Human Remains beyond its initial office-horror hook.
