EWC Players Choice Award Announced by Esports Awards
The EWC Players Choice Award is a new professional player-voted esports honor from the Esports Awards and the Esports Foundation, connected to the Esports World Cup.
The Esports Awards and the Esports Foundation have extended their partnership through 2028 and introduced a new peer-voted award for professional esports players.
The new EWC Players Choice Award is designed to recognize one standout competitor across esports, with voting handled by professional players rather than a public poll.
How the EWC Players Choice Award works
According to the official criteria, the award is open to professional players who have competed in at least one qualifying S, A, or B-Tier event during the eligibility window.
Professional players who meet the voting criteria can cast a vote, even if they have not attended the Esports World Cup. Players cannot vote for teammates or players contracted to the same organization.
The award focuses on individual performance, consistency, impact, and decisive moments during the season. Team success can be part of the wider context, but the vote is aimed at the player’s own contribution.
