Silent Hill f Passes 1M in First Days — Platform Picture Emerges

Posted on October 13, 2025October 13, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Silent Hill f clears 1M sold — early platform picture points to strong PS5 retail and solid Steam engagement

Konami confirmed on September 29, 2025 that Silent Hill f “has already reached one million units sold worldwide,” reflecting combined digital and physical sales across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC—just a day after the global launch on September 25. That rapid start makes it the fastest-selling entry in the series to date. Below is the clearest verifiable snapshot so far of how performance breaks down between PC and consoles, plus what critics and players are saying.

PC vs. consoles: what we can verify right now

  • PlayStation 5 (boxed/Japan): Launch week retail tracked at 57,475 copies, topping Famitsu’s chart; week two lifted boxed to roughly 66,800+. Digital is additional.
  • PC (Steam engagement): Steam all-time peak reached around 22.6K concurrent players during launch weekend—healthy for a single-player horror release.
  • Publisher breakdown: Konami hasn’t provided platform-split sales. The fairest reading: PS5 leads boxed in key territories; PC shows meaningful global traction via Steam; Xbox contributes to the total but with a smaller share in some regions.

Critical & player reception

Early consensus is positive, highlighting the 1960s Japan setting, story, and mood. Two representative quotes:

“SILENT HILL f has already reached one million units sold worldwide… reflecting digital and physical sales across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.”
— Konami (Sept. 29, 2025)

“With its brilliant writing, haunting atmosphere, well-designed gameplay, and spectacular visuals, Silent Hill f sets a new benchmark for the Silent Hill series.”
— GameSpot review

Why it matters

A simultaneous multi-platform launch plus strong early retail on PS5 and solid Steam engagement suggest Silent Hill f has broadened beyond its historic console base. If momentum holds through October, expect a long-tail lift as discounts and regional promotions kick in on PC and digital storefronts.
