The island is shifting — and the fight just got real. Gray Zone Warfare has officially launched its highly anticipated Winds of War update today, May 22, 2025. This is the game’s second major content drop, and it’s a game-changer for PvE and PvP fans alike. With a full progress wipe, expanded content, and vital quality-of-life upgrades, it’s time to jump back in — or join the war for the first time.

What’s New in Winds of War

This update brings a sweeping set of changes, all based on community feedback. Here’s what you can expect when you log in:

  • Dynamic Weather System – Rain, fog, storms, and sun now influence every firefight and mission.
  • Combat Outposts – Capture and defend critical locations for tactical advantage.
  • Conflict Zones – Real-time PvP hotspots marked on the map as battles erupt.
  • New Arsenal – 4 weapons, 80+ parts, 2 ammo types, and gear upgrades.
  • Mortar Strikes – Call in indirect firepower for strategic plays.
  • 60+ New Locations – More places to explore, loot, and conquer.
  • Task System Overhaul – Reworked quests and real-time squad Strike Missions.
  • Vendor Vulture – A new vendor located at Combat Outposts.
  • Friend or Foe System – Clear visual/audio cues for player factions.
  • Health & Durability Enhancements – Better med systems and gear repair options.
  • Tracking Tags – Mark gear to recover it after death or loss.

Global Access with New Languages

To make the game even more accessible, 11 new localizations have been added, expanding Gray Zone Warfare’s reach across more players worldwide.

Wipes and New Progression

The update resets all progress for a fresh start. This wipe aligns players under the new systems and rebalances the economy, gear, and missions for a better, fairer experience. It’s a crucial step in the game’s Early Access evolution.

Community-Driven Enhancements

Every new feature stems from community requests — from task improvements to reduced helicopter reliance, improved task sharing for squads, and better recovery systems. Winds of War is built on feedback, and this is just the beginning.

Enhanced Editions
