New Indie Game Kaiten Brings Strategic Chaos to Steam

Posted on May 1, 2025May 8, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A fresh tactical twist has landed on Steam! Kaiten, the latest release from indie developer Fragilent, is now available as of April 30, 2025. Combining turn-based strategy, roguelike mechanics, and a wild element of chance, this 1v1 battler is all about adaptability, timing, and a bit of luck.

The title was first released on PC in 2023, followed by launches on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Now, PlayStation 5 owners will get their chance to step into the Oval Office.

Each match in Kaiten is driven by a unique “wheel of fortune” mechanic. Instead of choosing your next move, you spin a wheel that determines your action for the round. Sounds risky? It is—but that’s where the strategy kicks in.

You’ll build a deck of perk cards and unlock powerful items like the Knife, which doubles damage, or Split, a move that can revive fallen allies by dividing your pawn’s health. Every decision matters in this best-of-three format, and the randomness forces you to think fast and stay flexible.

Kaiten is perfect for fans of quick-fire tactics and card-based combat, but with a roulette-style twist. It’s currently available on Steam, so if you enjoy fast-paced strategy games with a heavy emphasis on adaptability, this one’s worth a look.
