Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa has officially announced that the company will reveal the successor to the Nintendo Switch within this fiscal year. It’s been over nine years since the original Switch was first disclosed back in March 2015.
In addition, a Nintendo Direct event is scheduled for June to showcase the Nintendo Switch software lineup for the latter half of 2024. However, Furukawa clarified that there will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during that presentation.
The announcement, posted on May 7, has already garnered close to 30 million views.
The Nintendo Switch, released in March 2017, has sold over 125 million units worldwide, making it one of the best-selling consoles of all time. The anticipation for its successor is high, as Nintendo fans worldwide eagerly await the next big innovation.
Stay tuned for more updates as Nintendo prepares to share more about their next big release.
