Sancticide Early Access Launches with Deep Strategy & Combat

Posted on February 13, 2025June 24, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Sancticide is now available in Early Access, offering players a unique fusion of direction-based combat, rogue-lite progression, and immersive biblical-apocalyptic worldbuilding. Developed by Red Square Games and based on the universe of The Sin Collector: Repentless, this title challenges players to become a Sin Collector—balancing physical prowess, spiritual forces, and moral decisions in a collapsing world.

Combat with Purpose: Skill and Strategy Combined

At its core, Sancticide merges real-time directional combat with deep tactical decision-making. Players must not only master melee and ranged weaponry but also leverage “Purple” powers—supernatural abilities that let you move objects, alter time, or manipulate environments. The battlefield becomes a puzzle where foresight and flexibility are your best tools.

Kosherness: Morality as a Gameplay Mechanic

One of the most intriguing systems in Sancticide is “Kosherness,” a moral compass that dictates whether items or beings are approved by divine forces. This system impacts how quests resolve, how NPCs interact with you, and how your character evolves. It’s a fresh layer of consequence-driven gameplay rarely seen in the genre.

Death as a Teacher

Each death in Sancticide pushes you forward, not backward. This is a game that encourages experimentation and learning. Each failed run provides new insight, crafting a loop that rewards resilience and adaptation. Expect to fail often, but grow stronger with every fall.

A Biblical Apocalypse Like No Other

Set during a divine reckoning, the game world is richly built and dripping with atmosphere. From relic-filled ruins to cursed plains, each area pulses with narrative meaning. Your character isn’t just a survivor; they are an instrument of judgment navigating a collapsing spiritual hierarchy.

Demo and Early Access: What’s Included

The demo gives players access to the prologue, a training zone, and an early taste of the game’s enemy encounters and moral systems. The Early Access release expands on this foundation with more zones, deeper questlines, additional weapon types, and supernatural powers. Over time, expect multiplayer co-op features, more diverse enemies, and online systems to round out the full experience.
