Green zombies explode in Viral Multiplayer battle

Viral Multiplayer Review Bang for Your Buck at Just 70 Cents

Posted on July 27, 2024June 12, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A chaotic zombie shooter that delivers simple fun for almost nothing

Sometimes, less is more—especially when it costs less than a dollar. Viral Multiplayer strips the genre down to its most chaotic, arcade-like core. No lore. No fluff. Just you, your gun, and a tidal wave of bursting zombies. At only 70 cents on Steam, it offers surprising bang for your buck—literally.

Viral Multiplayer

Release Date: March 28, 2024

Genre: Action, Third-Person Shooter, Zombies

Developer/Publisher: Anchor Wright/Anchor Games

Platforms: PC (Steam)

Gameplay & Mechanics

There’s no story, no cutscenes, and no downtime. Viral Multiplayer focuses purely on action. You spawn, you shoot, and you survive. Unlimited ammo and zero fall damage mean it’s all about mobility and gory efficiency. The green zombies splatter satisfyingly when hit, like exploding water balloons in slow motion. It’s dumb, loud fun—and that’s the point.

Graphics & Sound

The graphics are functional; nothing revolutionary but they get the job done. The sound design is minimal, with realistic gun noises but little in the way of a soundtrack to enhance the ambiance.

Multiplayer or Solo?

I didn’t get the chance to try multiplayer due to a lack of co-op companions, but solo runs were still entertaining. Surviving alone against waves of enemies kept the adrenaline flowing. There’s something fun about fending off 100 zombies with nothing but your reflexes and a bottomless magazine.

What Could Be Better?

  • Repetitiveness: Infinite ammo can wear thin without any cooldowns or weapon variety.
  • Bugs: A couple of terrain collision issues led to getting stuck more than once.
  • Missing Progression: There’s no skill tree, weapon unlocks, or achievements to chase.

Performance

Surprisingly, the game runs very smoothly. Even with dozens of enemies on screen, there were no performance drops. It’s well-optimized and lightweight—perfect for lower-end PCs or casual gaming sessions.

Final Verdict

For less than the price of a candy bar, Viral Multiplayer delivers fast-paced, mindless fun. If you go in expecting AAA polish, you’ll be disappointed. But if you want a no-frills zombie shooter that just works and entertains, it’s a fantastic value for its price.

Score: 7/10

Viral Multiplayer proves that even the most basic games can deliver joy if they focus on fun. For less than the price of a cup of coffee, you get exploding zombies, chaotic gunfights, and a laugh or two. Sometimes, that’s all you really need.
