A disturbing blend of madness, memory, and malevolence awaits in this chilling follow-up to Descend into Madness

Posted on May 15, 2025January 23, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

In Vlad Circus: Curse of Asmodeus, Indiesruption invites players back into the dark, fractured world of the Vlad Circus saga. Published by Blowfish Studios, this pixel-art psychological horror adventure is coming soon to PC and consoles. While the Steam page currently lists the release date as “To be announced,” the game is expected to arrive sometime in 2025. Players step into the scarred skin of Josef Petrescu—brother of Vlad—as he awakens voiceless, memoryless, and trapped in a twisted mirror of reality.

Vlad Circus: Curse of Asmodeus

Release Date: To Be Announced

Genre: Point & Click, Pixel Graphics, Horror, Adventure

Developer/Publisher: Indiesruption / Blowfish Studios

Platforms: PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch

A Distorted Mirror of Reality

Players explore a nightmarish version of San Reno, where mirrors act as portals to fragmented timelines. This unique mechanic lets you jump between parallel realities to uncover Josef’s repressed memories. Each transition reveals more about his tragic past and the dark legacy of Vlad Circus. From the freakish dime museum to the haunted catacombs, the game is filled with chilling encounters that slowly piece together a harrowing tale of trauma, guilt, and evil.

A Journal of Madness

Josef’s journal acts as a window into his unraveling mind. As you collect entries, the story deepens—pulling you further into a twisted narrative that blurs the line between psychological torment and demonic possession. At the heart of it all is Asmodeus, a biblical demon reimagined as a parasite of sanity. The only way to destroy it? Fire, torture, and death. Asmodeus is not just a threat—it’s the embodiment of everything Josef fears and forgets.

Sound, Style, and Sanity

Despite its retro aesthetic, the game uses modern visual effects, dynamic lighting, and haunting sound design to build an immersive and oppressive atmosphere. Every flickering bulb and distorted whisper adds to the tension, creating a space that feels claustrophobic and cursed. It’s not about gore or jumpscares—it’s about dread, disorientation, and the weight of remembering things you wish you hadn’t.

A Horror Story Worth Watching

*Vlad Circus: Curse of Asmodeus* continues to push the horror adventure genre with its layered storytelling, emotional depth, and stylish presentation. Whether you played the previous game or are stepping into this world for the first time, this title promises a uniquely disturbing journey for fans of games like The Cat Lady or Detention. It’s not just about fear—it’s about confronting what’s been hiding in the dark corners of your past.
